We are all shaped by pieces of others — our grandparents, friends, teachers, neighbors, pets, strangers, even books and movies. Every action and interaction leaves a mark, whether big or small.

Parenthood, in particular, adds layers of complexity to our identities, stretching us in ways we never imagined. With so many influences shaping who we are, it’s no surprise that we sometimes find ourselves acting in ways that contradict our own beliefs. Why do we repeat patterns we disagree with? Why can’t we stop? At times, it feels as though something beyond our rational thinking is guiding us. And other times, we long to act differently but feel blocked by invisible barriers we don’t fully understand.

As strong, sensitive, and balanced adults, we strive to raise children with intention. But when unconscious influences take hold, they can create unnecessary stress, making it harder to maintain that balance. Recognizing these forces…
